Head Over Heels

Part two of our Thanksgiving in New Orleans. I am so in love with this city, just positively smitten.

So many layers of time.

The bayou classic comes to the Superdome every Thanksgiving weekend bringing some 200,000 people with it. Bourbon street was packed.

Marie Laveau's Vodoo Shop

Saturday we took a culinary bike tour. Had the BEST fried chicken, gumbo, oysters and poor boys. For dessert we had gelato and cannolis and even the New Yorkers that were with us agreed it was the greatest.

We went to Emeril's restaurant NOLA.

Shrimp and Grits

We also went to two John Besh restaurants, one of where we had this bread pudding. Needless to say, holiday weight gain has commenced.

So much art...

 and music.

Soul Rebels Brass Band at the Blue Nile

Pat O'Briens Piano Bar

Irvin Mayfield's Jazz Playhouse

I always love visiting my family's history. My great great grandfather opened a cigar shop in this store on canal street.
